Vermont Weavers Guild -
Policy for Workshop Registration
To sign up for a guild workshop, whether an afternoon or
extended two or three-day workshop, the fee or deposit is
send to the guild treasurer ahead of time to reserve a
place. Most workshops have a limit on the number of
participants. Places are filled in the order the fees or
deposits are received. The treasurer keeps a waiting list
once a workshop is full.
If you withdraw a month before a workshop, by telling the
treasurer, your money will be refunded. The treasurer will
then notify the next person on the waiting list that there
is a space in the workshop. If you withdraw closer to the
workshop by telling the treasurer, and there is someone on
the waiting list that can take your place, the treasurer
will refund your money. If you withdraw closer to the
workshop and the workshop is not full, your money will not
be refunded.
The workshops are for guild members. Generally, if a
non-member wants to take a workshop, we ask them to join the
guild. From time to time if an extended workshop is not
full, we may open the workshop to members of neighboring
weaver’s guilds for the same fee we charge our members.
Occasionally a member wants to take a workshop without
participating in the hands-on activity. We would discourage
this in cases of round-robin weaving workshops because some
examples of the weaving being taught would be missing.
However, if the workshop is not full, a non-participating
member could sit-in. The fee for the workshop would be the
same as for the participating members.
